Muecke, Germany--This summer, 17 young people attended the first youth leadership seminar for the Church of the Nazarene in Muecke, Germany, which focused on leadership as "A Challenge to Tackle!" The leaders, ages 17 to 32, represented local ministries throughout the Southwest Germany District.
The seminars began with a session on having a positive attitude, which university student Kathrin Arnold called “motivating and fun.”
“It was a very challenging and intensive time for the whole group,” she said. “After these few days, every participant was so motivated and ready to change the world.”
Philip and Cris Zimmermann, the seminar leaders, taught about the personal relationship with God, teamwork, visions, relationships and priorities with passion and honesty.
Arnold said that the seminar was an encounter with God in a new way, and appreciated the challenge to read the Bible as a love letter from God.
“The foundation of leadership is a personal relationship with God,” Arnold said. “This is what struck me most after the seminar. It is about a life full of trust and obedience towards Jesus and faithfulness in the small and daily duties. I am motivated to keep on learning and to live my life more to the glory of God.”
