Child Sponsorship Provides Education
My name is Prashant. I am from Madhya Pradesh, India. I am thankful to the Lord God Almighty and want to praise Him for providing me with a beloved respected Sponsor. Even though we don’t know each other personally, I am grateful to my sponsor for loving me and financially providing for my education. I want to thank NCM for selecting me in the child sponsorship program and providing me with a kind and loving sponsor. Through the grace of God and the educational help of Child Sponsorship, I was able to successfully complete my education and advance to Higher Secondary School, in English Medium. In addition through this program I experienced and came to understand the unconditional love of Jesus, who made us all children of God. This experience has helped me to be strong and firm in Him during times of trials and temptations. It also helped me make the decision to serve the Lord Jesus in every manner and capacity of my life. I want to ask you to remember me in your prayers as I pursue my BS in biochemistry. Pray that God will continue to provide all of my families needs as he has been faithfully doing. In times when we had little money to support the family, God provided what we needed to take care of our needs. Praise the Lord and may all the glory be to His Holy name. Once again, I highly appreciate my Sponsor for what he has done for me through the Child Sponsorship Program. I know first hand that with a low income, it was extremely difficult for my parents to provide a good education for me, especially in English Medium School. Therefore I am grateful to the Nazarene Compassionate Ministry, Child Sponsorship Program for the guidance and service it gives me. May God bless this ministry and all who are involved in it, and make this ministry a life-changing ministry for many children like me. Thank you.

Providing for Her Family Laxmi is a poor middle aged hindu widow, who has been suffering from severe arthritis for the past five years. She lives in Ooty which is located in the southern part of Inida. The climate there is extremely cold. The care she needs is generally not possible for the poor. Her husband was a daily wage earner. He died five years ago due to heavy alcoholism. Due to Laxmi’s health she is unable to do hard and laborious work. Being the sole provider for her family, this was affecting them economically.
In the midst of hard living conditions, Laxmi was continuously under stress. An NCM (Nazarene Compassionate Ministries) facilitator visited Laxmi. The facilitator introduced Laxmi to the SHG concept. The SHG concept is a program designed to bring in income and teach people how to save money. By doing this, Laxmi was able to take out a loan with the local bank. Laxmi was then able to start her own “petty shop”. The shop is located right outside her house. The income is providing enough money for her to get treatment, support her family, and send her two children to school. Laxmi expresses her gratitude towards NCM for the help she has received and that her children’s lives are fairly comfortable now. Laxmi is a witness to many living around her who are surviving in diffifult circumstances. A few of them are inspired by her life story and have a desire to build their own business. Through NCM economic intervention, Laxmi is now leading a happy family life. |
